DESCRIPTION:Nous aurons le plaisir d’écouter Théo Ladune\, Orange Innovation.\nIl donnera un séminaire IMAGE le jeudi 16 janvier 2025 à 14h00 en salle de séminaire F-200. \nTitre : « 4 decades of image & video compression\, from JPEG to AI-based codecs » \nRésumé :\nThis talk gives an overview of the field of image and video compression\, with a particular focus on AI-based approaches. For decades\, standardization organisms (ISO/ITU) have been designing compression algorithms such as AVC\, HEVC and VVC. Recently\, these conventional approaches have been challenged by new AI-based methods. While they offer impressive compression efficiency\, such AI-based codecs require significantly more computational resources. More recent development proposes to use implicit neural representation and overfitting-based codecs to combine compression performance and low complexity.
